My dad's favorite photo

I have wanted to use this photo for so long  - my dad took it when I was three. I don't know this little girl or what she was doing, but I think she, like me now, loves trees, birds singing and Red Shoes. (inspiration was from 'Art at the Speed of Life)

Creation-Frustration!!! I had tried printing the picture so many times and each time the printer ate some part of it. Many many swear words later I indulged in putting my frustrations on the page - didn't come out too bad.

Finding the time to transfer pictures from magazines to paper in adding gel medium and  paint has been a messy but enjoyable process, I found the book is called image transfer workshop i gives you really good tips on how to do transfers from pictures to paper.  written by Darling Olivia McElroy and Sandra Dunn Wilson is such a good book I recommend it to people who really want to try mixing the media techniques.

The page took me ages to complete
I am a little disappointed by my hand writing on the page - but the collage and effects using gel medium, transfers, gesso and ink worked well.

Practice Practice.
if i only had the time to do my art journal everyday!  :(
